TU B'SHEVAT SEDER AND TREE PLANTING - January 27, 2013

On Tu B’Shevat, the New Year for Trees, Religious School students participated in a Seder consisting of the fruits of trees.

Afterward, Bar Mitzvah candidate Jack Noles led the planting of two Little Gem Magnolia trees in the Temple’s side lot “in memory of Noah Pozner and Benjamin Wheeler, six year old Jewish boys who were lost at Newtown CT. They were bright, smart and loving boys whose lives ended too soon,” Jack said as he offered “blessings to the trees that provide us with clean air, shelter, food and resources to live.”

Everyone in attendance participated in the service by shoveling soil and placing rocks at the base of the planted trees.
